SHAMANISM – The Crystal Path to the Otherworld

We often share our shamanic journey experiences when in circle. I've also found  it's appreciated when I share the notes I take on my journeys with others So this series will document journeys I've experienced in the past.

All these journeys will be found this  SHAMANISM PAGE.

It is wise, if beginning to work shamanically, to build up ones skills and protections first. Do this step by step, by taking short (10 minute-is) journeys to begin with.

The first stage is:

HOW TO DRUM
Read about my first experiences of Shamanic journeying, and learn how to find drumming advice, and how to record your journeys. The Journey to the Otherworld: A Way of Starting your Shamanic Path

FIND YOUR HOME CENTRE.

Call this what you want, it is your safe space in the otherworld; your Mundi, your sacred garden or wild wood, or even a comfy lounge or a sun-drenched beach. Start all journeys from here, and always go back to this place; either when you need reassurance, or when you hear the call-back  sign.

FIND YOUR ALLY

This is the animal form ally that will keep you from psychic harm and guide you on most of your journeys.

HOW TO KEEP RECORDS I spoke to the Glastonbury Druid Moot and took my shamanic Journal with me.  https://viewfromrhoshill.blogspot.com/2016/04/meeting-glastonbury-pagan-moot.html

THE KEEPER OF THE LORICAS

An added protection is always a good idea.

This journey was taken in April 2000.

At a Shamanic Gathering, we we all asked to journey to find ourselves a Lorica,

A song to protect from, harm, either physical, emotional or spiritual. Sometimes, the verse is also called the 'breastplate' as in this, the breastplate of St Patrick.

Sometimes called a Caim,  a word with a Scottish root meaning loop, the Lorica or Caim conjures an image of a sanctuary. It is created when in fear, danger or distress, by using one's hand to form a circle around oneself,  while reciting the verse. Click the link above to read about this journey.
